Coffee description

Amalia is a State Coffee, it is cultivated at an altitude of between 1,700 and 2,000 MASL (5,577 – 6,561 feet above sea level) and processed with the Washed Method.
Amalia is a blend of Castillo, Caturra, Pajarito, Tabi, and Bourbon grown in La Sierra, a poor neighborhood on the outskirts of Medellín and an area formerly known for long periods of violence. For years, access was almost impossible due to guerrilla activity and drug trafficking.
These lands were rich in ideal soils and traditional coffee varieties and because access was so difficult, ironically, the violence actually helped preserve the farms.
Thanks to the hard work and commitment of people like Amalia, La Sierra is no longer known as a place of violence but as one of the best coffee-producing regions in the world.

Amalia and her husband Yesid are fully committed to the project. They see a brighter future for their children and for their community. Through their hard work, and the hard work and dedication of their compatriots, La Sierra is no longer known as a place of violence but as of one of the finest coffee producing regions in the world.
