Social Responsibility
Clarena´s coffee, a woman-owned business, is committed to empowering women in the coffee industry and their communities. Training and education are essential for women. Most of the women working within the coffee industry are crucial for supporting their families, and many of these women are single-mother heads of households. Children depend on them; aging parents rely on them, and, in the end, entire rural communities depend on these women. Educating women in coffee can help these women have fair trade, a fair wage, and, therefore a better way of life. We want to empower current and future generations of women in coffee with accessible training regarding all production and marketing stages of the coffee. And by doing this, new techniques and understanding can be applied, creating a better life for themselves and their communities with responsible and sustainable practices.
Many women and children need our help overseas and at home. This is why we donate part of our profits to different domestic and international projects. We want to give back and help those in need. What better way to start this journey than with Hogar Juvenil Amaga in Antioquia, Colombia! Hogar Juvenil brings education to children who otherwise would never have the opportunity. And they need help with basics, like a better kitchen, pillows, and linens. Here is their story.
